midlife crisis, it seems to be a big topic these days. I don’t like the term midlife crisis, I prefer midlife reinvention. I think we do change our priorities, we change our minds about what is important to us…
I was reading some blog posts this moring about what other people are thinking about their midlife crisis or the idea of what one is. One interesting blog I came across, called A Nuyorican vision. I liked the blog itself, the “vision screen” she has at the top is great. Curious what the technology behind that is…
I really liked the post, it was honest and sincere about what she is feeling in her life, about her career what she wants and the direction she wants to take… That seemed to be the biggest question in her post, and mostly aimed at herself.
What do I want to do, what do I want to do with my life? I don’t want this career any more but I need to make money and it sure would be nice doing it with something I feel passionate about…. This is the thread that underscores all musings of people experiencing similar thoughts.
Oprah had a show on last week about midlife crisis, or really it was more about how to change your view on midlife… I don’t watch much television, but I happened to see this on the schedule so I set my DVR to record it. It was an excellent show, I blogged about it here
One thing that struck me was the comments on the message boards on Oprah after the show. Many people liked the show and were inspired by it. But many people wanted to see more answers for themselves. more practical things they could do to get out of their midlife crisis “funk” they seemed to be in.
Like the author of nuyorican vision blog, people feeling this want ideas, they want to know how to tap back into their passion. Connect the dots again of their life and create what they really want.
I think thats why people are talking about midlife crisis and feeling that disconnect from self. I think that is why the secret hit such a big cord and why there is so much buzz about a new earth and the web classes that Oprah is leading over the next 10 weeks.
Things are shifting, its the time of awakening, and I believe that people on every level of their being are waking up and remembering their is so much more to who they really are.
I think the dissatisfaction and disconnect is exacerbated because when people are looking within for that direction they are also feeling the pinch of wanting to find that meaning and figure out a new way to fit into the world. To be fulfilled and have meaning and make money. To start a small business or grow the one they have but do it in a way that they enjoy that gives them what they are looking for and lets them connect with the buzz that is around and the parts they resonate with and still gives them the tools to turn their passions into profits.
I get asked questions everyday on how to do this. How to discover what you want and to create what you want nad to bring the piece of wanting fulfillment into alignment with wanting to allow in financial abundance…
Its a process, its a path of discovery and tuning into what you want and taking inspired actions. There are many ways to do it, just remember you are not an island so connect with others who can support you on the discovery and celebrate along the way with you.
I just created a special report in response to all the asking I have been receiving. It helps you start down the path to creating the success and fulfillment you want. Turn your passions into profits its a practical 7 step primer to shift your mind set and use the law of attraction to help you tap into your wisdom. Its $7 so its a no brainer for people who want some tools to find the answers within themselves.
Enjoy

My experience of a mid-life crisis is that it’s a remembering of what you had wanted to do when you didn’t have to worry about making money and finding and raising a family, and realizing just how far away from doing it you have gotten. That is a female perspective, I imagine for men it would be much more a question of whether they were in the right career. I think either way it is really a process of discovering (or rediscovering?) who it is that you really want to be. The problem becomes how are you going to be that person in the short amount of time left to you 1n this world.
