Where are you headed in the story of your life?
Are you rushing to get away from or to something in your life?

Stop for a moment- Breathe- Wiggle your toes-
Now begin again… and move at a pace that lets you open up to what is with you in the moment.
Rushing, running around being busy, maybe at a frantic pace, thinking multitasking will get you some place faster… is the old way of moving through life.

Chances are pretty good it has not gotten you where you want to go or if it has you have not found what you hoped you would.

Hal Borland’s quote“All walking is discovery. On foot we take the time to see things whole.” opens us to a new perspective of stepping onto the path we want to travel and to do it with intention without rushing or multitasking…

Because those are things that in the old story line [click to continue reading…]

Fireflys dance in the evening sky, summer-state-of-mindthe hoops and hollers of kids in the next yard having one last game before bed… soft morning light brushing against climbing roses and the sweet sound of  birds filling the air…

These are some of the wonderful things that fill up the rhythms of summer. Where the sky is impossibly blue and the kiss of the air on your skin is warm and full of adventures waiting to be discovered.

The bright summer sun washes worry and stress from our minds. Our spirited inner muse infuses us with emotions and inspiration to play and try new things. Reminding us that all things are possible.

So many things to explore and experience, so many things to savor.. This is our summer state of mind

Take some time to tune into your summer state of mind. Spend a few minutes watching fireflys dance across the evening sky or spend an afternoon with a friend.

Do things you enjoyed as a child and experience them again for the very first time. Breath in the sweet scents of summer and let your heart soar as you open to possibilities and discover new summer memories.

Set the intention to take at least an hour a week this summer to savor where you are and what your are experiencing. Immerse yourself in the summer state of mind, revel in it and step into the simplicity of play.

Let yourself bask in the wonder of summer the emotions and inspiration that flow from enjoying yourself in the moment.

As you do this for just one hour a week you will make it possible to hold your summer state of mind through out the year. Dipping into when ever you choose. What a wonderful way to live.

cupcake-double-chocolate

I had a lovely walk to my library today, the fragrance of lilacs and viburnum carlisii reaching out and kissing my senses as I walked along the pretty little streets fresh with spring green.

I love reading and I was enjoying my walk with the morning sun streaming through the leaves thinking about the books in my hand to return and the enjoyable journey I had been on while immersed in their pages.

I walked over to the new release stacks to browse, I always like to see what catches my eye.

On the top shelf was a delicious looking cupcake, a satiny bed of dark chocolate frosting topped with a sugared pansy with a bright face. Looked good enough to eat. The marketing of the cover shot hit its mark and I selected the book to take home.cupcake-hydrangea

Cupcakes are very popular with “big kids” these days. [click to continue reading…]

life inspirationWhat do you love to do?

How often do you let yourself do it?

When your focus in life is just about getting things done, or being responsible and realistic… your focus is on the past and the projections of what is next.

It keeps you out of the moment out of sync with inspiration.

When we shift our focus about how we spend our time and stop being in the past or projecting into the future we are in the moment.

Time seems to stop when we are in the moment.

Everything seems brighter, more vivid and we find ourselves savoring the moment and being completely in tuned with who we are.

When you are in the moment you can experience [click to continue reading…]
