Last night I lay in bed, summer sounds drifting through the window.
I noticed little luminescent flashes of light playing on the walls and ceiling in the dark apartment.
It took me a moment to realize they were fireflies dancing in the night air. Instead of out on the lawn where I had been fascinated by them when I was a child.
They had come into the house. There were at least 20 and the colorful flashes of light brought back fond memories of summer nights dashing across soft blades of grass trying to catch a firefly in a jar.
I’ve never had them come and dance inside my home before. It was a wonderful way to drift off to sleep. My imagination floated along the soft night air, all sorts of magical thoughts playing in my mind as I drifted in a pleasant half sleep.
As I watched the luminescent flashes I wondered why as adults we don’t let our imagination free most of the time.
What is it about being grown up that says we can’t chase fireflies for the sheer joy of running barefooted across the soft grass hoping to get a closer look at this magical little creature that caries a little light on his back as he flies through the summer night…
As I lay watching the lights I was inspired by my imagination to think of ways I could let more of that sense of wonder back into my every day life. What kinds of things would be simple fun for me to experience, just as catching a firefly on a summer night had been so many years before.
What are you inspired by?
What fond memories from a childhood summer can you experience again for the very first time?
When you look at the things you do in your every day life how can you open back up to a sense of wonder?
What can you hear for the very first time when you listen to your favorite piece of music?
How can you look at your work in a new way that brings the imagination and inspiration back to you?
Take time this week to walk barefoot in the grass and spot the fireflies dancing in the evening sky.
You will be inspired by the experience and let your imagination out to play again.
Enjoy!

I was taking an evening walk along the beach this weekend.
The light going soft over the pearly blue of Vineyard sound and I could hear… Girls just wan na have fun!… playing up ahead. I walked up to a group of women who were laughing and enjoying a summer night.
They were all strangers and had just met over the last few minutes.
They invited me to join in their impromptu summer evening fun.We sat around the grill toasted marshmallows, told jokes and stories with the lap of the water as our back ground music.
The two women who had brought the grill told us they had met that morning over coffee on a bench overlooking the harbor. They wanted to stretch their comfort zones on their weekend trip and to connect with women who wanted to do the same. They had the idea to bring some supplies down to the beach with the intention of connecting and having fun and see what would happen.
Over the course of three hours on the beach we had become a group of eight women enjoying a wonderful summer evening. We had started out as “strangers” and had opened up… we had come together over marshmallows and the simple idea to have fun and connect.
We agreed that stopping and staying with the group had been a stretch for each one of us, a step beyond what was our normal habit. As we packed up and hugged each other good night it was inspiring to see we had all stretched into a wonderful new shape. The connection we had made on the beach had already begun to open us up to new possibilities.
What connections are you inspired to make this summer?
What wonderful ways can you stretch your comfort zone and shift to a new shape?

“You need to be realistic” “You need to face reality…”
How often have we heard someone tell us these things, or found ourselves telling our children or others something like this-
These are refrains that often come up when a person is envisioning the possibilities open to them in life. When they are stretching their inspired muse and thinking out side of the box!
The irony is that these people are not really thinking outside of the box- they are thinking from the theory of everything and in alignment with the way things actually work in quantum consciousness .

The reality people talk about that we need to be realistic about… does not exist. [click to continue reading…]

What is the flavor of your thoughts?
Are your beliefs still serving you?
Every thought that you have builds on the last thought that you had and the process keeps rolling along to create the results you get in your life.
This is not just an idea, it is a fact of science and Universal Law.
There are two main areas of your mind.
The first is the conscious mind, which composes five percent of the brain. It is responsible for activities that you do and think in your normal waking sate.
It takes the input it receives processes, evaluates the information, and makes [click to continue reading…]
