stay focused, pay attention… sometimes its hard to do!

stay-focused-inspired

Sometimes its hard to stay focused on a project you are working on or pay attention to the steps, stages, details… of what you are supposed to be focused on.

Have you ever had one of those days when you just can’t stay focused on the projects or items you wanted to accomplish that day?

What do you do?

Do you beat yourself up about it?

Do you plow through and keep trying to get the work done despite lack of focus?

Just pushing through is usually not the best strategy unless your deadline is fast approaching and you simply must push through- of course that is another post on how to leverage your time more effectively ;-)

When you find yourself having trouble focusing on the projects or tasks you have set out for the day. Stop. Stop what you are doing stop trying to focus and take a brake for 10 minutes.

Try a few of these tricks to see if you can get yourself back in sync and focused on what is most important to you.

Are you low on fuel?

Take a break and drink some water and have a healthy snack- some nuts or a little cheese with some veggies is a good snack that will give you fuel without making you sleepy.

Are you uninspired?

Take a look at what you are working on, why are you working on it?

What are your success intentions and how does it fit into your inspired marketing plan?

Sometimes we loose focus because we don’t have a clear idea of what we are working on will do for us. So rather than pushing through take a minute to get clear and either refocus what you are working on or delegate it or re purpose it so it fits better into your inspired marketing plan.

Is there information or know-how you are missing?

Look at the point in the project where your focus is waining, what information do you need to know or what do you have to learn how to do so you can be more effective and get your focus back.

Usually the piece you are missing is small and only takes a few minutes to put into place so you can get focused and back on track. Taking the few minutes to locate and learn this missing piece will save you hours of time wasted by lack of focus.

Do you simply need to take a break?

Sometimes you simply need to take a break and do something completely different for 10-15 minutes to clear your head and move forward.

Go outside for a fast walk, turn on your favorite song and rock out to it around your office or outside… Wash your face with cold water drink some water and then set a clear intention for what you want to accomplish in the next sixty- minutes and then focus only on that.
