One of the most powerful ways to reduce stress is to realize our lives are cluttered with thoughts, reactions, habits…
That stem from what others think we should do. Not from our passion or inspiration of what we choose to create and experience.
How much time do you spend a day doing things you think you “Should” do to please someone else’s idea of success or what they think you should do?
How much time do you spend a day looking for things in your home or office because your environment is cluttered with things that don’t really support what you really want to be and feel?
How much of your day is spent putting out fires, dealing with things that you label as urgent but are not really important to you?
What steps will you take this week to reduce stress and release the cluttered feeling of spending your day with thoughts, to do’s, and habits that don’t move you forward to what you want to create.
Come up with 3 steps that will make your life flow:
1.
2.
3.
What you are really doing is coming up with steps to let go of doing things that keep you cluttered in mind, space, and habit. You are making the choice to reduce stress on your inner brilliance.
Stress you have been putting on yourself because you have forgotten what You want to create in life and to experience… and instead have been putting the focus on what you think you should want.
Its time to give yourself permission to ask yourself-
What do I really want to create and experience in every area of my life…
What is important to me… that makes my heart sing?
What will I fill my day with so that my thoughts, my environment, and my rhythm in life expresses what I say I want to create?
Take a moment to let me know what steps you come up with and how it let you reduce stress and the cluttered feeling that you had before. Steps you have engaged in to make your day more fun, rewarding, inspiring. I would love to hear about your ideas.

This morning was beautiful, gorgeous sun, birds chirping and dashing back and forth in the bushes.
Spring is not too far around the corner and it seems like the birds are getting ready to pair up and build some nests.
We were walki
ng on the path in the woods with glimpses of Nantucket sound. With the snow melting there were lots of nice places for the girls to plunge in and bound around as we walked down the trail.
Today was one of those days I was just
feeling really good.
No big external condition causing it just delighted with life and enjoying feeling good walking the dogs and being with them enjoying the day.
As I was walking along I must have had a nice smile on my face. I ran into a woman walking the path. She stopped to look at Taza and Luna but didn’t really seem to have a friendly energy about her.
Which is pretty hard when you are near two very cute, polite, wiggly Labradors… They did not pay her too much attention, I guess her energy was not that attractive to them.
Then she stopped and looked directly at me. “You are so happy” “I can feel your happiness” she smiled, and commented that isn’t something she would normally say and that she never picked up on what someone was feeling so strongly before.
We talked a little, I told her that nothing was more important than that I feel good. Because it makes me feel good, attracts good things to me, and aligns my energy with all good things flowing to me. I told her living this way allows me to be more helpful and valuable to my clients and customers.
She laughed, I guess it must be true she said. I feel great, you’ve made my day. We waived good afternoon and went on with our walk.

We can all become masters in the art of listening.
We can deepen the richness and expand the colors in the palette that we use to paint the canvas of our lives.
We can discover the nuance and fluidity of expression and emotion that encompasses true connection and conversation.
When we realize the art of listening is something that we have just forgotten and can rediscover.
Are you ready to rediscover the art of listening that is innate within you?
When we are talking in a conversation and our ears are hearing the words and sounds coming out of the other person’s mouth… but are we listening to what they are saying?
Listening involves the whole person.
We need to listen with our whole bodies just as someone speaks using their whole body.
Here are a few questions to get you thinking about your listening skills. Look them over and then really listen to the people who are communicating with you.
- When you are in a conversation are you really listening or are you waiting for the other person to stop talking so you can say the thing you just thought of to say while they were talking?
- Do you allow a pause after the other person stops talking? Leave a pause and listen to what is being said in the silence.
- Do you listen with an agenda? Judging the other person and what they are saying, or maybe thinking of ways to “Fix” it?
- Do you listen with your head or your heart? Spend the week listening with your heart.
- What do you hear when you listen with your heart?
Practice and refine the art of listening as you move through the canvas of your life.
You will be surprised at all of the things you hear.

Everyone I know seems to get busier and busier.
They look at my life and wonder how I can accomplish so much and always have time to play and relax.
There are two important things that I incorporate into my life.
Boundaries and self care.
The boundaries are very helpful in carrying out the things I want to focus on and making sure I don’t spend my time getting caught up in things that don’t serve those focuses whether they be recreational or business.
The self care is extremely important in giving me energy and a reserve of energy and fulfillment in my life so I can handle the rough patches and the exhilarating challenges without stress and frustration.
I have five daily habits that I incorporate into my schedule that allow me to give myself extreme self care and I make them a priority.
- Walking my two dogs for a long walk first thing every morning and each afternoon
- Taking 5 to 10 minutes a day just to sit and think about not much in particular but be open to what comes up
- I spend an hour a day reading either for pleasure or for life long learning
- I put my full attention on what ever I am doing and do my best at it, this gives me great satisfaction even if the task I am performing is routine or boring
- I look at the stars for a few minutes every night before I go to bed
What kinds of things can you do for self care this week that you can turn into daily habits that will help you create a reserve of energy and help you stay focused when things get stressful?
I would love to have you share some of your ideas in the comments section.
